Curfew← Back to the site

These terms cover your use of the Curfew iOS app and the getcurfew.app website. By using Curfew you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

Curfew is made by one independent developer. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that person.

Do not rely on Curfew alone for anything critical

Please read this one properly.

Curfew is a consumer alarm app that runs on top of Apple’s alarm and notification systems. Alarms can fail for reasons outside our control: a discharged battery, a powered-off or restarted phone, an iOS update, a system fault, permissions revoked in Settings, storage exhaustion, or the app being deleted.

Do not use Curfew as the only thing standing between you and something that matters — a flight, an exam, a medication schedule, a shift where lives depend on your attendance. Keep a second, independent alarm for those. We provide no guarantee that any alarm will sound at any particular time.

Curfew is not a medical device

Curfew is not a health, medical or sleep-therapy product. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and nothing it shows you is medical advice. The exercise missions ask you to do push-ups and squats: do them only if you are physically able, and stop if it hurts. You take part at your own risk. If you have any doubt about exercising, ask a doctor first.

App blocking

Curfew’s blocking is built on Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, and it can only do what that framework allows. It is a barrier that makes an impulse inconvenient, not a security control. It can be circumvented — most obviously by turning it off in Settings or deleting the app — and it depends on iOS behaving as documented. You choose which apps to block, and you are responsible for that choice; do not block anything you may need urgently.

Subscriptions

Curfew offers auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through the App Store.

Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. Requests go through Apple’s support site.

What you may not do

Do not reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app except where law expressly permits it; do not resell or redistribute it; do not use it to break the law; and do not attempt to disrupt our services or access other people’s data.

Content you send us

If you send us a bug report, a suggestion or any other feedback, you allow us to use it to improve Curfew without owing you anything for it. Do not send us anything confidential.

Ownership

Curfew, its name, its artwork and its software are ours or our licensors’. These terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you control. Nothing else is transferred.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Curfew. We may update these terms; if a change is material we will update the date at the top and, where it matters, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Curfew after a change means you accept it.

Disclaimers and liability

Curfew is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, opportunities, or anything you missed — including oversleeping. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law. Consumers in many countries — including the EU and the UK — have statutory rights that survive any contract term, and these terms do not affect them.

Ending this agreement

You may stop at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription through Apple. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms.
